Jira Server Projekte in die Cloud zu transferieren, folgt einem allgemeingültigen Prinzip: je komplexer das Projekt in der Administration, desto komplizierter die Übertragung. Daher wäre eine mögliche Vorgehensweise:
- Kopie eines Jira Projekt auf dem Server erstellen, denn für eine gelingende Übertragung sind mit Sicherheit eine Reihe an Settings zu ändern
- Transfer der Kopie in die Cloud, mit dem Maximum übertragbarer Administration Settings
- Check Administration Settings im Cloud Projekt hinsichtlich Anzahl + Inhalt – es ist mit Sicherheit Nacharbeit notwendig
- Erstellen eines neuen Projektes in der Cloud, basierend auf den zuvor transferierten Administration Settings
- Löschen des transferierten Server Projektes in der Cloud
Fazit: mit dem Import sind Jira administrative Settings vom Server bestmöglich übertragen und können für zukünftige Cloud Projekte genutzt werden.
Analoges Vorgehen wäre sinnvoll für Confluence Spaces.

Transferring Jira projects into Cloud, a general principle can be assumed: the probability of successful transfer diminishes with rising administration project complexity. A potential approach therefore would be:
- copy the Jira project on Server, because settings definitely need to be modified for successful transfer
- transfer the project copy with a maximum of administration settings into the Cloud
- check the administration settings in the Cloud project in regards of quantity and quality – rework certainly is inevitable
- create a new Cloud project based upon the administration settings transferred
- delete the Server project transferred in the Cloud
The bottom line of this approach: administration settings have been transferred best possible, ready for use by further Cloud projects.
A similar approach is recommendable for Confluence spaces.
